SEOUL—A devastating diplomatic crisis erupted in the K-pop fandom this week after voters selected ENHYPEN’s ‘THE SIN : BLISS’ as their favorite new music release with only 73 percent of the total vote. The remaining 27 percent of voters now face severe digital banishment from the fandom's online territories.
The Great Ballot Scandal
Loyal fans of the group, known globally as ENGENE, expressed deep shame over the democratic outcome. They viewed anything less than a unanimous 100 percent victory as an act of high treason. The group's agency, Belift Lab, reportedly went into lockdown to protect the seven members from the humiliation of a partial victory.
"A 73 percent victory is basically a hate crime against ENHYPEN’s ‘THE SIN : BLISS’," said Min-ji Park, Supreme Commander of the ENGENE Cyber Infantry. "We have already identified the IP addresses of the 27 percent who voted for other artists. Our network of coordinated stan accounts will ensure they never stream peacefully again."
The Algorithm Weeps
Industry experts warn that such narrow margins could destabilize the entire global music economy. The tension has caught the attention of major streaming platforms trying to manage the fallout.
