Odyssey Cult Supergroup expansion raises corporate risk levels

Leaked memo reveals corporate panic over the new Odyssey Cult Supergroup expansion and its high levels of psychedelic feedback.

RE: Threat Level: Odyssey Cult Supergroup

We must address the recent growth of the Odyssey Cult Supergroup project. Artist Ethan Miller formerly ran this operation as a solo endeavor. He has now expanded the unit into a multi-member collective. This rapid scaling introduces severe corporate liabilities. Our projections indicate a 400 percent increase in stage clutter. The sheer volume of vintage amplifiers threatens the structural integrity of our storage facilities.

Hazardous Levels of Psych-Rock

Our research team analyzed the new tracks. The data shows alarming levels of feedback. "We tracked nineteen guitar solos on one song," said Gordon Flense, Deputy Undersecretary for Things That Were Fine Before. "A standard three-piece band is manageable. This massive Odyssey Cult Supergroup is currently hoarding seventy percent of the West Coast's fuzz pedals. We cannot allow this level of sonic deregulation to continue unchecked."

The collective now includes veterans of the underground rock scene. They refuse to wear uniform corporate polo shirts. They also demand payment in rare European psych reissues. This business model does not scale. We have attempted to replace their drummer with a drum machine. The band responded by casting a spell on our IT department.

Mitigation Protocols

We must act fast to neutralize the threat. We advise all field agents to avoid direct eye contact with the band's flutist. "Their vibrations are altering the regional water table," warned Dr. Thaddeus Mbeki-Ransome, Chair of Applied Hype Studies at the Institute for Trending Phenomena. "If they add another keyboardist, the entire state of California may drift into a permanent 1971 state of mind."

Please approve the budget to buy out their contracts. We can then repackage their master tapes as acoustic coffeehouse background music. This strategy remains our only hope to stabilize the quarterly projections.

SIGN-OFF: Sincerely, Brenda. Please delete this immediately before the guitarists find us. I can already hear the feedback coming through the ventilation ducts. God help us all if they start jam-banding.
