NEW YORK— Harry Styles reportedly spent his Saturday Night Live appearance on Saturday parodiying himself. The pop superstar, recently lauded for his musical stylings and fashion choices, took the SNL stage to skewer his own image. He seemed particularly focused on his perceived queerbaiting. Styles also apparently found time to impersonate Sebastian Maniscalco. This marks a significant departure for the artist known for his earnest stage persona and flamboyant outfits. The audience seemed largely confused. Many attendees were reportedly expecting more actual queerbaiting. Styles has been open about his love of fruit. This fact was also apparently mentioned. He also seemed to enjoy running. The whole affair was quite the spectacle.
He Discovered He Is Boring
During his opening monologue, Styles shared a groundbreaking revelation. He discovered he is, in fact, tremendously boring. “I just like fruit and running,” Styles reportedly confessed to the crowd. He also admitted to being a bit of a bore. This self-effacing humor was met with polite applause. “I thought it was brave of him to admit his lack of personality,” said audience member Brenda Glickman, the Senior Vice President of Fan Enthusiasm. “Most artists would never be so honest.” The SNL cast seemed equally perplexed.
Queerbaiting And Fruit
Styles also addressed accusations of queerbaiting. He seemed to be mocking the very idea. He then proceeded to kiss cast member Bowen Yang. This gesture left many audience members bewildered. Was this part of the parody? Or was it just Harry being Harry? “I’m not sure what I just saw,” commented Gary Stool, the Senior Curator of Pop Culture Irony. “It was either a brilliant deconstruction of celebrity or just a guy kissing his friend.” He also mentioned his love of fruit. This was reportedly a running theme.
