WASHINGTON—The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued an urgent recall notice today for the state of North Carolina. Regulators determined the territory possesses a severe North Carolina problem that poses an immediate threat to conservative legislative initiatives and electoral success.
Hazard Identified: Sub-Zero Polling Numbers
According to federal safety inspectors, recent testing of the North Carolina market revealed defective demographic shifts. These shifts cause severe, localized losses for conservative candidates. The defect most recently manifested as an 11-point lead for Democratic challenger Roy Cooper over Republican incumbent Michael Whatley in statewide polling.
"Our lab tests showed the state's electorate has become highly corrosive to GOP talking points," said Rusty Calhoun, retired stadium acoustician and current Deputy Inspector of Electoral Infrastructure. "Even under normal operating conditions, the keyphrase North Carolina problem caused immediate structural failure to several major political campaigns. We recommend all GOP field offices unplug their phone banks immediately to prevent electoral fires."
Affected Units And Immediate Remedies
The recall affects all 100 counties within the state boundaries. Regulators advised the Republican National Committee to immediately halt all distribution of yard signs, bumper stickers, and optimistic press releases. Users should return all campaign funds to donors or divert them to safer, less combustible states like Wyoming.
"We bought several ad buys in Charlotte thinking they were safe," said Brenda Henderson, Director of Defective Assets for the Republican National Committee. "But the North Carolina problem has infected the entire supply chain. Every time we deploy a candidate, the poll numbers collapse within forty-eight hours. It is a complete manufacturing disaster."
At press time, the commission warned that attempting to patch the state with last-minute campaign rallies could void the party's remaining national insurance policy.
