CUPERTINO, CA—The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued an urgent recall notice today for the iOS 27 day one update. The software patch targets the newly launched iPhone 18 Pro models. According to federal regulators, the day one update contains a critical firmware hazard. The software causes the physical titanium chassis of the phone to fuse directly with human wrist bones upon activation.
Severe Wrist Fusion Hazard Detected
The federal safety agency classified the day one update as a Class I recall. This designation means the product poses a risk of permanent skeletal modification. The hazard affects approximately three million units shipped worldwide this week. "We noticed a slight warmth in our hands during the progress bar," said Dr. Thaddeus Mbeki-Ransome, Chair of Applied Hype Studies at the Institute for Trending Phenomena. "By phase two of the day one update, my radius and ulna had completely merged with the Apple A19 chip."
The agency advises all users to immediately stop holding the device. If the phone has already bonded with your skeleton, do not attempt to pry it loose. Doing so may void the manufacturer warranty.
Official Remedy and Return Guidelines
Apple engineers rushed to deploy a secondary patch to address the skeletal fusion. However, users cannot install the new fix if their fingers are locked in the classic texting position. "We designed the day one update to create a seamless user connection," said Janet Holloway, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Things That Shouldn't Exist. "We did not expect the operating system to physically digest the consumer."
Apple offers a free surgical separation procedure at participating Genius Bars. Affected consumers will also receive a twenty-dollar store credit. The credit applies only to the purchase of official Apple branded slings and wrist braces.
At press time, Apple warned that rejecting the medical separation procedure would immediately terminate the user's iCloud subscription.
