AUSTIN, TX—Tech giant Dell released its newest flagship laptop Tuesday, earning glowing praise for its machine-milled aluminum chassis alongside absolute revulsion for its useless platform. Reviewers lauded the stunning 4K OLED display. However, they found little use for an operating system that only opens a single static browser tab.
Stunning Craftsmanship, Zero Functionality
Engineers crafted the device out of space-grade metals. It weighs less than two pounds. Yet, software engineers loaded the machine with a useless platform that immediately crashes upon user contact. The trackpad uses advanced haptic feedback to simulate the feeling of regret.
"The hardware represents a triumph of modern industrial design," said Arthur Pendelton, lead hardware analyst at Wired. "It feels like holding a piece of the future in your hands. Unfortunately, turning it on triggers a deeply useless platform that can only run a clock widget. We recommend buying it solely to use as a luxury cutting board."
A Masterclass In Thermal Dissipation
Tests showed the laptop handles heavy idle states with zero fan noise. The battery lasts three weeks because the useless platform refuses to execute basic background processes. Opening a simple plain text document requires a complete system reboot.
"We wanted to push the boundaries of materials science," said Sarah Jenkins, Chief Product Architect at Dell. "Our team spent four years perfecting the zero-bezel glass. We then paired it with a useless platform that cannot save files or connect to Wi-Fi. It is the finest paperweight money can buy."
At press time, Dell engineers announced a firmware patch designed to hide the operating system entirely so customers could enjoy the unboxing experience in peace.
