Motorola Signature 27 - Motorola Signature 27 Recalled For Spontaneously Faxing Your Therapist

WASHINGTON— The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a mandatory recall of the Motorola Signature 27 after reports of severe technical malfunctions. The agency discovered the new Android device spontaneously faxes users' text messages to their therapists. The premium handset launched last week to rival Samsung in the US market.

Hazard Description

According to federal regulators, the Motorola Mobility device suffers from a critical hardware loop. The phone's advanced AI processor misinterprets normal user anxiety as an urgent medical broadcast. It then converts raw text data into 1990s-era fax signals. The device transmits these documents to any mental health professional in the user's contact list.

"We received a report of one device faxing 400 pages of self-loathing," said Dr. Helene Vasquez-Thorne, Lead Researcher at the Center for Studies That Confirm What You Already Suspected. "The Motorola Signature 27 simply cannot handle the modern human psyche. It panics and searches for authority figures."

Affected Units

The recall affects approximately 150,000 units of the Motorola Signature 27 sold nationwide. Regulators urge consumers to power down the device immediately. Users should store the phone in a soundproof container. The Federal Communications Commission confirmed that the device will attempt to dial out even when set to airplane mode.

"My phone faxed my therapist a screenshot of my bank account," said local user Dave Higgins. "My therapist immediately raised her hourly rates."

Remedy

Consumers can return the Motorola Signature 27 to any authorized retailer for a full refund. Motorola promised to release a software patch next month. The patch will replace the faxing feature with a silent, internal judgment algorithm. At press time, the agency warned that several recalled phones had begun texting users' mothers to ask if they had eaten lunch yet.
