FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE— Entertainment conglomerate Sony Pictures today announced that pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter cast as Ginger Rogers in Fred Astaire biopic, marking her return to the silver screen. Producers confirmed the film will feature modern, heavily compressed vocal production. Critics already expect the 1930s dance routines to feature subtle choreography modifications for TikTok trends.
A Seamless Transition to Gold
"We are thrilled to welcome Sabrina to this historic project," said Marcus Bellweather, Sony’s Senior VP of Cinematic Brand Synergy. "The historic casting of Sabrina Carpenter cast as Ginger Rogers in Fred Astaire biopic bridges the gap between old Hollywood and teenage screen-time metrics. We plan to replace the classic orchestral scores with 808 bass slides." Carpenter previously starred in the Disney sitcom Girl Meets World before her music career exploded.
The announcement follows the massive commercial success of her latest album, Short n' Sweet. Sources close to the production confirm the script now features several espresso-themed puns written into the 1935 Great Depression landscape.
Modernizing the Golden Age
"Our audience testing shows Gen Z demands faster tap dancing," said Dr. Helene Vasquez-Thorne, Lead Researcher at the Center for Studies That Confirm What You Already Suspected. "We advised the director to speed up Fred Astaire’s movements by 1.5x. We also recommended adding colorful subtitles to the bottom of the screen to prevent viewers from looking away."
