WASHINGTON—The Consumer Political Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of several GOP candidates currently deployed in tight swing states due to a critical alignment fault.
The federal safety agency issued the recall after a consumer poll revealed that one in four active units have begun to split from their core branding. This structural failure causes the political units to veer sharply away from their primary source power. In extreme cases, affected units may experience a total identity collapse on live television.
Hazard Identification and Brand Separation
"We noticed a severe wobble in the midsection of these units," said Gordon Flense, Deputy Undersecretary for Things That Were Fine Before. "This specific batch of GOP candidates cannot maintain a stable center of gravity. When exposed to moderate media pressure, they bend away from the former president. This pose poses a high risk of voter confusion."
Testing facilities confirmed that the defect originates in the unit's rhetoric processor. Under stress, the processor attempts to calculate independent policy positions. This action causes the candidate to vibrate violently between two opposing bases of support.
Affected Models and Remedy
The recall affects all GOP candidates manufactured for the current midterm cycle. This includes both the standard suburban moderate model and the heavy-duty populist model. Consumers can identify affected units by their complete lack of eye contact when asked about recent national headlines.
"We advised campaign managers to immediately power down their candidates," said Dr. Helene Vasquez-Thorne, Lead Researcher at the Center for Studies That Confirm What You Already Suspected. "Do not attempt to operate a malfunctioning politician in a televised debate. Return them to their local party headquarters for a free firmware update that restores absolute compliance."
At press time, several recalled candidates were seen wandering aimlessly through local county fairs, refusing to answer to their own names.
