CHICAGO—Legendary metal band Iron_Maiden shocked fans last night by launching their highly anticipated Iron Maiden 2026 Tour with a 17-song setlist entirely dedicated to the horrors of corporate administrative scheduling. The British icons abandoned their traditional lyrical themes of historical battles and mythology. Instead, they focused heavily on the dread of modern office bureaucracy.
The Number of the Sheet
The band opened the show with the pyrotechnic-heavy anthem "Run to the HR Department." Frontman Bruce Dickinson sprinted across the stage in a high-vis safety vest. "We wanted to capture the true, modern meaning of torment," said Dr. Helene Vasquez-Thorne, Lead Researcher at the Center for Studies That Confirm What You Already Suspected. "Nothing evokes the feeling of eternal damnation quite like a recurring Friday afternoon sync meeting. The crowd felt that primal fear."
The band's mascot, Eddie, made his appearance during the third song of the Iron Maiden 2026 Tour setlist. Rather than carrying a bloody axe, a fifteen-foot-tall animatronic Eddie loomed over the drum riser clutching a giant laminated sign-up sheet for the office holiday potluck. Fans screamed in genuine terror as Eddie pointed a rotting finger at concertgoers who had not yet declared if they were bringing chips or napkins.
Rime of the Ancient Project Manager
Longtime fans praised the musical precision of the new material despite the jarring shift in subject matter. "The dual-guitar harmonies on '2 Minutes to Midnight (EST)' were absolutely blistering," said Marcus Bellweather, Spotify's Senior VP of Playlist Emotional Intelligence. "They really captured the adrenaline of trying to submit your digital timesheet before the automated portal locks you out for the weekend."
At press time, the band was reportedly resolving a backstage dispute after bassist Steve Harris refused to approve lead guitarist Dave Murray's request for paid time off during the upcoming European leg of the Iron Maiden 2026 Tour.
