KYIV— A Russian drone crossed the border yesterday to escalate the local air war by filing a formal noise complaint against the security service headquarters. The unmanned aerial vehicle hovered outside the building's third-story window. It repeatedly flashed its hazard lights to protest the loud volume of military operations.
An Escalating Air War Over Decibels
The incident represents a sharp tactical shift in the ongoing air war. Instead of carrying explosives, the drone carried a laminated copy of local municipal noise ordinances. Witnesses said the drone buzzed in a highly passive-aggressive pattern for forty minutes. It then dropped a clipboard onto the building's courtyard.
"We heard a rhythmic, irritating whirring sound," said Mykola Dubenko, a senior analyst who was inside the building. "At first we thought it was a standard tactical strike. But then the drone began tapping its carbon-fiber propeller against the glass. It pointed repeatedly at its digital watch screen."

Local authorities confirmed the drone wore a yellow high-visibility safety vest over its chassis. It also displayed a fake badge. The device apparently targeted the intelligence office due to the constant hum of high-powered server racks and late-night paper shredding.
"The level of disregard for quiet hours is frankly unacceptable," said Gordon Flense, Deputy Undersecretary for Things That Were Fine Before. "This drone is just trying to do its job. It has to wake up early tomorrow to monitor a pipeline. People are trying to sleep in the airspace."
