ASHEVILLE, N.C.—Indie rock icons Wednesday shocked fans today. The band announced a massive expansion of their hit album. The upcoming Wednesday Bleeds deluxe edition promises to push the boundaries of southern gothic noise. The new release packages the original 2025 masterpiece with raw demos, unpredictable remixes, and harsh covers.

The Sound of the South

Critics praised the original record for its distorted pedal steel and gritty lyrics. However, the Wednesday Bleeds deluxe edition aims to capture even more realistic rural chaos. The band spent weeks tracking authentic neighborhood sounds in North Carolina. They wanted to capture the true spirit of the American suburbs.

"We felt the original mix was too clean," said Rusty Calhoun, retired stadium acoustician and founder of Dads Against Bass. "A true southern indie record needs to hurt your ears. We added a 47-minute field recording of a broken weed whacker. It perfectly bridges the gap between alt-country and actual physical torture. It really elevates the Wednesday Bleeds deluxe edition."

Remixes and Lawn Equipment

The reissue also features several electronic reinterpretations of their songs. One track features a remix by a local diesel mechanic. The mechanic ran the master tapes through the alternator of a 1998 Ford F-150.

"We want our listeners to smell the gasoline," said Marcus Bellweather, Spotify's Senior VP of Playlist Emotional Intelligence. "This deluxe album targets the highly lucrative 'crying in a hardware store' demographic. It is a very underserved market."

At press time, the band members were seen throwing a perfectly good washing machine down a flight of stairs to record the bonus track for the Japanese import version.
